From a Manchester-area customer

“I just want to say, these guys are the coolest, and they're the fairest mechanics around. What I love about these guys is that they are absolutely fair on pricing, easy to talk to, and are fast with their service. They told me recently they're expanding to a new location and I understand why, it's because they're professional, fair, and awesome guys. If I could give them ten stars I would. If you're in the Manchester area, these are you guys. You won't be disappointed.”

FAQ

Volkswagen repair in Manchester, NH: your questions, answered.

Straight answers on models, gearboxes, oil and coolant. If your question isn't here, call the shop and ask.

  • 01

What Volkswagen models do you work on?

The VWs you see on New Hampshire roads: Jetta and GLI, Golf, GTI and Golf R, Tiguan, Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport, Passat, Arteon and Taos — plus the Beetle, CC, Eos and Touareg. Diesel TDI models are handled case by case, so call first and we'll tell you straight whether it's a job for us.

  • 02

Should my Volkswagen go to the dealer or an independent shop?

While your VW is under factory warranty, covered repairs, recalls and software campaigns belong at the dealer — Volkswagen pays for those, and we'll tell you when your problem looks like one. Maintenance, wear items and out-of-warranty repairs are where an independent VW shop earns its keep: a direct line to the person working on your car, OEM or OE-supplier parts, documented service, and independent-shop labor rates.

  • 03

What oil goes in a Volkswagen?

Whatever approval your engine was built for. Most VWs call for synthetic oil that meets VW 502 00, 504 00 or 508 00, and the viscosity follows from that spec. We match the oil to your engine code, note the approval on the invoice, and reset the service reminder so your records stay clean.

  • 04

How often does a DSG transmission need service?

Volkswagen's schedule calls for DSG fluid and filter service around every 40,000 miles on most wet-clutch units — one of the most-skipped items on the list, and old fluid is a common cause of shudder and rough low-speed shifts. Tiguans, Atlases and most Jettas use a conventional automatic instead, which has its own fluid schedule.

  • 05

Why does my VW keep losing coolant?

On most modern VW engines the first suspect is the water pump or thermostat housing — plastic assemblies that seep as they age, leaving pink crust and a sweet smell after a drive. Hoses and the expansion tank cap come next. We pressure-test the system to find the leak before replacing anything. Don't ignore a low-coolant warning: a single overheat can warp an aluminum cylinder head.

  • 06

Do you work on VWs from outside Manchester?

Yes. We're on Elm Street in Manchester and serve VW owners from Bedford, Hooksett, Goffstown, Auburn, Londonderry, Derry, Litchfield, Candia and Pinardville. Drivers come from farther out for European work, too — book ahead and we'll have the bay time set aside for your car.
